Professional Learning Courses, Workshops, and Webinars
MATC offers a wide-range of professional learning courses in a variety of delivery modes and durations as part of our efforts to design meaningful professional learning that provides just-in-time training opportunities for you to explore what you need when you need it. All of MATC’s courses, workshops, and webinars are free to MATC faculty and eligible for FQAS hours, so that you can plan and develop your own professional development goals and outcomes.

Professional Learning College Sponsorship for Faculty:
The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) has limited funds for MATC full and part-time faculty to attend professional learning events (conferences/workshops/webinars) related to student success and teaching excellence or discipline-related conferences that relate to the college’s or your program /department’s strategic goals you are eligible to request up to $500. If you are presenting at a conference that is related to any of the prior items you are eligible to request up to $800.
- Both, Full-time and Part-time faculty, are invited to apply for this scholarship while funds last.
- Those who present at the conference will receive priority funding.
- Applicants not awarded funds from this source in the previous academic year will also receive priority funding.
- Efforts will be made to distribute funds across pathways and programs/departments within each academic year.
- Funds are available from July 1 - June 30 and are exhausted each year; they are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis with recognition of the above priorities.
- If you are interested, please email a College-sponsored Professional Learning Agreement.
- Please know that the Center can only reimburse up to the awarded amount according to MATC’s Travel and Expense Reimbursement Procedure (BB0901) and Policy (B0901). Unfortunately, international travel cannot be covered by MATC's Professional Growth Grant.
Create Professional Development at MATC:
The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) facilitates faculty professional learning opportunities. Our goal is to provide training that concentrates on teaching strategies and is pedagogically-focused. Courses and workshops are student-centered, research-based, and designed in response to classroom and institutional needs. Please send a 1-2 page proposal for your course or workshop idea to cte@matc.edu.
