MATC offers quality, reliable care to children of the students and staff/faculty of MATC, and our communities. Child care is available at all four campuses for children ages six weeks through 12 years, from early morning through late afternoon. The centers do not provide before and after school care, but do provide care for registered school age children on days off of school. Evening child care is not available.

The MATC Children's Centers offer a wide variety of learning experiences that encourage children's emotional, social, intellectual and physical development. All four centers have professional, educated staff and modern facilities. Lunch and snacks are provided.

Parents must register their children, complete all enrollment paperwork and have an agreed upon schedule, prior to attending. Drop-in care is generally not available due to licensing regulations. Enrollment for the Summer and Fall semesters opens in mid-April and for the Spring semester in mid-November. Returning families and new student parents are given first priority during these enrollment periods. New children are accepted throughout the year as space allows.

Fees vary depending on the age of the child and the requested schedule. Child care tuition rates for students are calculated at a lower rate than those charged to non-students. Non-student rates are comparable to many other local child care centers. Students may use unencumbered financial aid to pay for their child care. Child care funding options through community agencies may also be available to students. More information on these options is available through the child care centers. Child care fees may also be paid by cash, check or credit card at the cashier’s office on campus or on-line.

MATC Children's Centers are licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. The teacher-to-student ratio meets or exceeds the state requirements. The centers are also accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, which assures that the child care programs are meeting high quality standards in all areas of care.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does drop-in childcare mean?
Drop-in childcare allows you to have a safe space for your kiddo so that you can attend to business on MATC’s downtown campus. It’s a first-come first-served service with no reservations or pre-scheduling.

How do I use the service?
Before the first time you use Little Stormers Village, you’ll need to complete our registration form & waiver (found under “forms” up above).  These only need to be done one time per semester and can be completed before you drop your kiddos off the first time or at drop off (please allow extra time if you’re doing them at the site).

How much does it cost?
Nothing! Little Stormers Village is free to current and prospective MATC students.  At this time, MATC staff are not permitted to use LSV.

How long can I leave my children in Little Stormers Village?
The maximum time per day is 3 hours.  It is the parent or guardian’s responsibility to ensure they return prior to the 3 hour mark. Failure to return by the 3 hour mark could result in loss of use of the center.

What can I use Little Stormers Village for?
You must remain on MATC’s Downtown Campus while your children are at LSV.   Little Stormers Village is here so that you can do important things at MATC’s campuses like: meet with a staff member (tutor, advisor, retention coach, financial aid, etc), take a placement test, attend an orientation, or complete the MATC application for financial aid application.

What can’t I use Little Stormers Village for?
LSV is not to be used for recurring things such as on-campus employment or while you attend class.

If you need childcare during those hours, please work with MATC’s licensed childcare provider to see if they have openings for the semester (414-297-7880).
Please note: MATC’s licensed childcare provider is not drop-in – so you would need to arrange scheduled childcare with them before bringing your children.
