STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS PRODUCE RESULTS
As the college’s philanthropic partner, the MATC Foundation facilitates private investments that remove barriers to education, accelerate careers and deliver skilled talent to the Milwaukee area.
Scholarships and other financial support for students are vital investments in student success. Scholarship recipients have a retention rate nearly three times higher than the college’s overall student population; they graduate more quickly and with higher GPAs – and are essential to the region’s workforce pipeline.
You can direct your gift by using the drop-down menu below, and here are some ways you can have the most impact:
- Student Flood Recovery Emergency Grant – your generosity matters to students affected by recent historic funding. Help them focus on school and share hope for moving forward. Our first round of grants were exhausted in just one day! Students living in the hardest-hit MATC district zip codes are given priority.
- Supplies for Success Scholarship – provides support for equipment, supplies and materials that are required to complete specific coursework, such as tools for a dental hygienist or automotive student, or special software for an accounting student. These costs can often add up to over $1,000.
- Access for All Scholarship – makes college possible for students who are not eligible for government financial aid, for a number of possible reasons including students brought to the United States as undocumented children and those returning to community from incarceration.
- MATC Promise Program – breaks down barriers by providing free tuition to eligible students. MATC launched Wisconsin’s first Promise program in 2016 and more than 1,700 scholarships have been awarded since the program’s inception.
- MATC Student Emergency Assistance Grant – keeps students in school and focused on their studies despite unexpected urgent needs like a flat tire or unexpected medical expense
- Ellen and Joe Checota MATC Scholarship Program - Accelerates the talent pipeline, offering full-ride scholarships for 90+ MATC technical diploma and certificate programs.
