MATC Performance Exams are practical examinations of physical, technical skills in a special environment. These exams are administered by departmental faculty.

MATC Department Exam Policies
- Students who wish to take an MATC Department Exam must contact the appropriate contact or test administrator to receive and complete a Credit for Prior Learning and Experience (CPLE) form.
- Students submit the CPLE form to the MATC cashier where a payment, per course, is made and verified with a stamp. CPLE fees can be found here. This must be paid prior to taking the exam. If use of MATC equipment and supplies are necessary to administer challenge exams, additional fees may apply.
- The stamped “paid” CPLE form is then turned in to the test administrator.
- A score of 80% or more on the MATC Department Exam is required to receive credit for the course, or passing score is provided by the test administrator. The course and corresponding course credits will be placed on the student's transcript; no letter grade applied. Students are advised to remain in the course until they know the results of their exam.
- Students should be aware that their financial aid will not pay for their challenge exam. Additionally, a challenge exam cannot be used to substitute for 3 credits of a dropped course.
- An MATC Department Exam may not be taken more than once.
Evaluations are subject to change.
