Application Process:
Conducted by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK), in conjunction with the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) and various corporate sponsors, the process includes an online application with letters of recommendation submitted via the PTK website. After thorough review of the information provided via the active links above, other questions may be directed to honors@matc.edu.
Eligibility Requirements:
In addition to the PTK online application process, requirements include current enrollment and completion of 36 associate degree credits, a 3.50 cumulative grade point average by December 1st, and on-track to complete at least 48 college credits by August at the time of confirmation in early December (before the end of MATC's Fall semester). Student's academic record must reflect achievement of all requirements on or before the confirmation due date established by PTK.
Benefits:
Upon successful selection, the benefits of participation include college and media coverage as appropriate; an appreciation gift; a national recognition certificate; potential scholarship of $2,500, $2,000 or $1,000; transportation with accommodations to the AACC National Conference; and an invitation to attend the college's scholastic award ceremony.
Notification Timetable:
Eligible students are notified after the December confirmation due date established by PTK.
