DR. Yan Wang
Yan Wang was named acting vice president of enrollment and retention in April 2024.
Dr. Wang came to MATC in 2004, working as the manager of institutional research and becoming the director in 2013. Before that, she served as the director of student services in the department of technical physics at Peking University.
In her two decades at MATC, Dr. Wang has served on collegewide committees focused on strategic enrollment management and student success, assisting committee members make data-informed recommendations. In addition to producing hundreds of internal research reports that have influenced the college’s direction, Dr. Wang has published articles on strategic enrollment, management, student swirl and mapping the enrollment process.
Dr. Wang earned a doctorate in higher education, a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs, and a master’s degree in applied statistics from The Ohio State University. She received a master’s degree in history of law and a bachelor’s degree in applied chemistry from Peking University.
