Vision

To provide drop-in care for children ages 6 months to 10 years of age of current or prospective MATC students.

Mission

As MATC remains committed to finding innovative ways to serve students; LSV ( Little Stormers Village) embraces its mission to continue to transform lives, through supporting student parents/legal guardians by providing a safe space for their children while they prepare to make a difference in the lives of their families and the community.

About Us

Here at Little Stormers Village (LSV), we continue to serve our student parents/legal guardians  with a safe, fun and environment for the child/children. While they are conducting MATC related business, your child(ren) can learn through play. Our staff is passionate about working with children and look forward to making a difference.

Little Stormers Village (LSV) welcomes MATC Student parent/legal guardian's children from 6 months to 10 years of age. Our drop-in center is designed for children to learn through play and has specific activities and areas for the following stages:

  • 6 months-24 months
This space is designed to help 6 to 24 months of age to explore life, whether your child is on their tummy, a crawler, or beginning walker.
  • 2-5yrs old
This space is designed to help toddlers/preschoolers learn through play while continuing to develop social skills by sharing with others and learning independence.
  • 6-10 yrs old
LSV designed this space for school aged children to be creative through arts and crafts, journaling, and games that encourage learning and social interactions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does drop-in childcare mean?
Drop-in childcare allows you to have a safe space for your kiddo so that you can attend to business on MATC’s downtown campus. It’s a first-come first-served service with no reservations or pre-scheduling.

How do I use the service?
Before the first time you use Little Stormers Village, you’ll need to complete our registration form & waiver (found under “forms” up above).  These only need to be done one time per semester and can be completed before you drop your kiddos off the first time or at drop off (please allow extra time if you’re doing them at the site).

How much does it cost?
Nothing! Little Stormers Village is free to current and prospective MATC students.  At this time, MATC staff are not permitted to use LSV.

How long can I leave my children in Little Stormers Village?
The maximum time per day is 3 hours.  It is the parent or guardian’s responsibility to ensure they return prior to the 3 hour mark. Failure to return by the 3 hour mark could result in loss of use of the center.

What can I use Little Stormers Village for?
You must remain on MATC’s Downtown Campus while your children are at LSV.   Little Stormers Village is here so that you can do important things at MATC’s campuses like: meet with a staff member (tutor, advisor, retention coach, financial aid, etc), take a placement test, attend an orientation, or complete the MATC application for financial aid application.

What can’t I use Little Stormers Village for?
LSV is not to be used for recurring things such as on-campus employment or while you attend class.

If you need childcare during those hours, please work with MATC’s licensed childcare provider to see if they have openings for the semester (414-297-7880).
Please note: MATC’s licensed childcare provider is not drop-in – so you would need to arrange scheduled childcare with them before bringing your children.
