MATC Restart has changed!
see below for new requirements starting fall 2026
ELIGIBLE STUDENTS:
- Are pursuing an associate's degree or technical diploma
- Have a cumulative GPA at MATC of 2.0 or higher
- Are in their final semester OR have 12 or fewer credits remaining to graduation
- Have funds available to pay for their Fall 2026 tuition (Financial Aid award, proof of sponsorship/other scholarship, OR payment plan at MATC)
Please note: the new MATC Restart will cover up to $1,000 towards a past-due MATC balance. New MATC Restart students will receive this funding only one semester and only if they meet the continuation requirements listed below.

What are the continuation requirements for the program?
For students entering MATC Restart fall 2026 or after:
- Earn a term GPA of 2.0 or higher each semester
- Earn 67% of credits attempted during the semester
For students entering MATC Restart prior to fall 2026:
- Register for at least six college-level credits each semester (students may also register for Summer courses and must take at least six credits to be eligible)
- Earn a term GPA of 2.0 or higher each semester
- Earn 67% of credits attempted during the semester
- Complete a FAFSA for each academic year or enter into a payment plan
- Attend at least one meeting with a member of their Pathway team or at least one student resource workshop hosted by MATC during the semester
- Maintain a $0 balance for all current and future semesters prior to the application of ReStart awards to previous balances
