Integrated Education & Training (IET) Program

You can do all those at the same time and at no cost.

In MATC’s Integrated Education & Training (IET) program, learn skills to join the workforce or prepare to enroll in one of MATC’s 180+ degree or diploma programs while getting your high school diploma. 

The IET program is open to students in the college’s Adult High School, General Educational Development (GED), High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or English Language Learners (ELL) classes at MATC and Community-Based Organizations.

IET classes are free for MATC students and come with support services to help you succeed.

In the IET program, you can earn college credit in these programs:

 

Support Provided

IET students receive wraparound services and support to help them navigate college-level classes and stay on track while balancing classes, families and work. IET students receive assistance in:

  • Managing time and priorities
  • Securing textbook(s)
  • Connecting to Student Resource Center and community partners
  • Exploring careers and jobs

Eligibility 

To enroll in the college’s IET program, students must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Enroll in Adult High School, GED/HSED, or ESL classes.
  • Have not taken college classes in the United States previously.
  • Complete Interest Form.
  • Attend an IET general information session 
  • Meet with IET academic support specialist 
  • Score a NRS level 4 or above on TABE Reading
    •  If a student scores a NRS level 3, an academic recommendation from an instructor is needed. 
  • Attend another orientation specifically on their Pathway selection (Business or Healthcare)

Your Commitment

Once enrolled in an IET program, students must:

  • Attend classes regularly.
  • Stay until the end of class.
  • Actively participate in class.
  • Complete assignments on time.
  • Have a positive attitude.
  • Ask questions or share concerns with instructors and staff.
  • Be persistent to achieve success.
